Bill Winston is an American televangelist, preacher, writer and businessman. He is the founder and senior pastor of Living World Christian Center, a non-denominational church located in Forest Park, Illinois with over $22,000 in membership.

He earned the Distinguished Flying Cross after the mission. Growing up, Dr. Winston was influenced by the Tuskegee Airmen and their historic aviation accomplishments. These airmen served as role models and later influenced his six-year career with the United States Air Force.

BILL WINSTON CAREER

Winston joined IBM Corporation as a marketing executive in January 1973. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to regional marketing manager for IBM’s Midwest region. He said it was during this time at IBM that he became spiritually “born again” and felt God’s need to enter full-time ministry. In 1985 he left IBM and began attending Logos Bible College. Later, in 1996, Winston briefly attended Oral Roberts University.

In 2006, Friends International Christian University in Sunshine State awarded Dr. Bill Winston an unearned college degree in humane letters in recognition of his teachings.

BILL WINSTON MINISTRY

Winston and his wife began a small ministry in 1988 while still residing in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Every weekend they traveled to Chicago to sponsor two-day faith crusades where attendance was less than 20 people. Winston moved to Chicago with his family in December 1988.

He founded and directed a Bible training school, with training services held at the Quality Inn Hotel in Madison and Halsted Streets in Chicago. In 1989 it became the Living Word Church of Chicago. Later in 1990 it was renamed “Living Word Christian Center”.

The church leased space for services from 1994 to 1997, at the Chez Roué Banquet Hall in Forest Park, Illinois. As the ministry grew, they purchased Forest Park Mall, a 33-acre shopping center. On New Year’s Eve 1997, the church held its first worship service at the mall. Since then, the church and its worship center have grown into a state-of-the-art, multi-million dollar worship center. In addition, the church auditorium stands out for its avant-garde architectural design.
