Bill O’Reilly is an American journalist, author, TV host, news anchor, podcast host, actor, producer, radio host, and political commentator. Best known for being the TV host of the Fox News Channel series The O’Reilly Factorbetween 1996 and 2017, after which he was fired for alleged sexual harassment. His show was the highest rated cable talk show for 16 years and has been acclaimed by media analysts year after year. Bill began his media career as a news anchor and weather reporter for television networks such as WFAA-TV and KMGH-TV, for which he worked during the period in which he received his first local Emmy award for his coverage of skyjacking. He has also worked for broadcasters such as WFSB, WNEV-TV (WHDH-TV) and WCBS-TV. During this time, he received his 2nd Local Emmy Award for Investigating Corrupt City Marshals in New York City, New York. He was a correspondent for CBS News between 1982 and 1986, after which he moved to ABC News and hosted segments appearing on shows such asWorld News Tonight , Good Morning America , and Nightline . He was also the host of the television series Inside Edition (1989-1995), during which he had his well-known tantrum against his employees, which resurfaced in May 2008 in the form of a video titled “Bill O’Reilly Flips Out” on the Internet.
Between 2002 and 2009, alongside his regular TV show The O’Reilly Factor, he also hosted a very successful radio show, The Radio Factor , which was carried by more than 400 stations. During this time, he also wrote a weekly column that was published in magazines such as the New York Post and Chicago Sun-Times until the end of 2013. After several women accused and charged him with inappropriate behavior and verbal abuse in 2016 and a related investigation was conducted, he received received a lot of negative press and was fired from Fox News Channel in April 2017. His severance package was reportedly worth $25 million, and the show was subsequently renamed The Factorand aired its final episode on April 21, 2017. That same month, Bill launched his podcast titled No Spin News , which expanded in August 2017 to include a video version and also guest on the Glenn Beck radio program . In 2019, he began his daily radio commentary entitled The O’Reilly Update , which he uploaded to his YouTube channel. He also authored or co-authored more than 30 books, both fictional and non-fictional, between 1998 and 2018. Bill attended St. Brigid Parochial School in Westbury, Nassau County, New York, USA, and then enrolled at Chaminade High School in Mineola, New York, USA, graduating in 1967.
He then attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York, USA and was an honors student majoring in history.
