BIOGRAPHY OF BILL JOHNSON
Charismatic American-born Christian revivalist, traveling speaker, author, and senior pastor of Bethel Church in Redding, California, Bill Johnson, has been seen in television segments aired on the Christian Broadcasting (CBN) and Trinity Broadcasting networks, on Sid Roth’s It’s Supernatural and in some religious documentaries. Johnson has also been on the cover of Charisma magazine and has been the subject of several magazine articles.
BILL JOHNSON EARLY LIFE
Johnson attended the John Wimber Signs and Wonders conference in 1987 with a specific purpose, to seek a healing revival. He came away discouraged because he thought the same concepts were teaching as John Wimber, but the result was radically different. Johnson states that this discouragement brought about a realization that faith required risk, and after this realization miracles of healing began to happen.
He traveled to Toronto, Canada in 1995 to attend some of the Toronto Blessing revival meetings. Johnson recounts receiving a new touch from God at these meetings which focused his life’s work on the pursuit of the Holy Spirit and the gifts of the Spirit
In 1998, Johnson, along with Bethel Senior Associate Chief Kris Vallotton, started the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry to prepare stunt doubles to become Pentecostals.

His father, Mr. Lord Johnson, recently served as senior pastor from 1968 to 1982, when Bethel Church was part of the Assemblies of God. Preceding that position, Johnson, alongside his better half, served as senior pastor of Mountain Chapel in Weaverville, Calif., from 1978 to 1996.
Johnson went to a John Wimber Signs and Reflects gathering in 1987 with the particular goal of seeking recovery restoration. He left discouraged on the grounds that he had shown similar ideas that John Wimber had educated, but the result was radically unique.
Johnson expresses that this demoralization led to the recognition that trust required danger, and after this recognition, the supernatural events of repair began to occur.
