Oak Park, IL born Betty White is an American actress and comedian. She has the longest television career of any artist. Considered a television pioneer, she was one of the first women to control both in front of and behind the camera. White is well known as the first woman to produce a sitcom (Life with Elizabeth), which earned her the honorary title of Mayor of Hollywood in 1955.

White enrolled in Horace Mann School in Beverly Hills and Beverly Hills High School, famous as a filming location for popular titles such as Clueless and It’s a Wonderful Life. Additionally, she pursued her interest in writing. She played the lead role in a play at the Horace Mann School and discovered her interest in performing. White was also the writer. Inspired by her idols, Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, she then decided to pursue an acting career
