Benicio del Toro is a talented Puerto Rican-Spanish actor and filmmaker. He has received numerous recognitions including the Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. In 2001 he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Traffic (2000). Benicio del Toro studied at the Academia del Perpetuo Socorro (Academy of Our Lady of Perpetual Help) in Miramar, Puerto Rico. He later joined the Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.

As he continued to develop in his acting elective, he dropped out of college and began acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory of Drama in Los Angeles and also came full circle at the Square Theater School in New York City.
