I started playing the guitar when I was 10, learning some basic chords on a nylon-string acoustic. I learned some simple Irish folk songs which helped me develop my rhythm and my ear.
The thing that changed everything was discovering an old Iron Maiden tape in a dusty corner of the house. The album was ‘Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son’. Never before had I heard music so atmospheric and so hymn. There was no turning back. I had to have an electric guitar! I ended up getting my hands on a ¾ size black Washburn and dove into the world of amps and distortion!
A few bands followed, each getting closer to the music I wanted to play so badly until I was able to come up with some personal song ideas, so I started a new team that I called The Reckoning. I have released 2 online albums titled ‘Defining Armageddon’ and ‘Hell Kisses The Earth’ both available on Bandcamp.
At the end of 2013, I had the idea of recording instrumental songs just for fun. I started working with an Italian drummer, Andrea De Carolis. I ended up putting together 8 songs for my first solo album ‘Mr. Badass’ which was released via Bandcamp on April 12, 2014.
In between recording music, I also found time to write a fictional novel called “The Hammer,” featuring a character I created called Frank Blake, who was inspired by the song “ Vigilant” from The Reckoning. “The Hammer” is available on Amazon.
