Barbara Tarbuck
Actress Barbara Tarbuck achieved popularity in the United States for her work for many years on the series “General Hospital.” The actress also seen in productions such as “American Horror Story: Asylum” she died at the age of 74, on December 27, 2016, as a result of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, at her home in Los Angeles.
Born on January 15, 1942, in Detroit (Michigan), Barbara J. Tarbuck began her professional career very early, at the age of 9, as an actress in the children’s radio serial “Storyland”. She enrolled in acting at Wayne State University, Michigan, before winning the prestigious Fulbright scholarship, which allowed her to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
After this, he moved to New York, where he made his Broadway stage debut in various productions, although his work in “The Water Engine”, written by David Mamet , is most remembered . Since the late 1970s, she has played a secondary role in television series, such as Dallas , where she played a doctor in several episodes.
Some fame came to her late in life as Lady Jane, mother of one of the leads, businessman Jax Jacks, in General Hospital . She was also Mother Superior Claudia, in American Horror Story: Asylum , and appeared on occasion in Mad Men , Glee , and Dexter .
She was married from 1980 until his death to James Denis Connolly, with whom she had a daughter, Jennifer Lane Connolly, also in the audiovisual industry in production tasks.
