Balabhaskar Chandran Santhakumari (born 10 August 1978) is an Indian violinist, singer, music composer and record producer from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is the recipient of the Bismillah Khan Yuva Sangeetkar Puraskar . In addition, the 40-year-old violinist premiered his debut “ Let it be ” (instrumental fusion album).
He has performed at many big instrumental events along with many big name names. He includes Louis Banks, Ustad Zakhir Hussain, Hariharan, Mattannoor Sankarankutty and many more.
Recently, on 25th September 2018, the family met with an accident in Thiruvananthapuram. Balabhaskar with his wife and daughter was returning from Thrissur. The famous violinist had gone to visit a temple with his family. In addition, the driver of the family was driving the car.
Unfortunately, the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed it into the tree. The musician’s daughter “Thejaswi Bala” (2 years old) died in the accident due to injuries In fact, the rest of them, which includes the violinist’s wife “Lakshmi” and his driver “Arjun”, were seriously injured.
They are all admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.

Also, Santhakumari started performing on various stages at the age of 12. In 1998, he became the youngest music composer working on the movie “ Mangalya Pallakku ”. In fact, the violinist was only 17 years old at the time.

Santhakumari married his wife “Lakshmi Santhakumari” in 2000. They welcomed their daughter “Thejaswi Bala” in the year 2016. Unfortunately, Thejaswi died in the accident the family reunited on September 25, 2018.
