Atiku Warns Edo Voters: Voting APC is an Endorsement of Misery

As the Edo State governorship election approaches, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has urged voters to reconsider supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He warned that voting for the APC would mean endorsing “misery and hardship” for the people of Edo State.

In a Facebook statement titled “The Clear Choice for a Prosperous Edo State,” Atiku questioned whether the APC has improved the lives of Edo residents or worsened their struggles.

He emphasized, “The APC has plunged Nigeria into an abyss of suffering and has sown seeds of poverty, despair, and insecurity.”

Atiku, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, urged voters not to fall for the APC’s promises.

Instead, he advised them to support Dr. Asue Ighodalo, the PDP candidate, as a step toward a brighter future.

“They criticized past leaders for raising fuel prices, yet today, they preside over an era where fuel costs soar above N900 per litre,” Atiku noted.

“A vote for the APC is a vote for the continuation of misery, hunger, and despair,” he added.

Atiku highlighted the positive contributions of Governor Godwin Obaseki and suggested that electing Ighodalo would consolidate these achievements.

He further criticized the APC, describing the party as focused on power rather than the well-being of Nigerians.

“The APC has donned the mask of a friend to the masses, but behind this veil lies a sinister reality,” he said.

He accused the APC of silencing critics and ignoring the struggles of ordinary Nigerians.

Despite the current challenges, Atiku expressed confidence that Ighodalo, with his competence and dedication, would lead Edo State to prosperity. He urged the people to make wise use of their votes.

“The power is yours. Use it wisely,” he concluded, encouraging voters to support Ighodalo for a new beginning in Edo State.
