The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar is the most followed candidate among the 2023 presidential candidates on all major social media platforms. The Former Vice-president with 6 Million followers across all platforms lead Peter Obi with over 3 Million followers.
According to a report on PunchNG.com, Atiku has five million people following him on Twitter, 1.2 million followers on Facebook, and 447,000 followers on Instagram, garnering a total of six million across these social media platforms. According to the same report, the figure makes up 49 percent of the number of persons engaging the presidential candidates on the platforms.
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, comes second with 3 million followers across all major social media platforms. A breakdown of these numbers shows that Obi has 2.3 million followers on Twitter, 636,000 on Facebook, and 430,000 on Instagram. These figures covered 26 percent of the number of politically-inclined netizens on the platforms.

A check into the social media presence of the flagbearer of the ruling All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, showed that he had 1.4 million followers on Twitter, 264,000 on Facebook, and 147,000 on Instagram. making a total of 1.8 Million Rabiu Kwankwaso, the governor of Kano State and the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, has 259,000 followers on Twitter, 185,000 on Facebook, and 18,000 followers on Instagram.
Other presidential candidates, Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party, Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress, and Kola Abiola of the Peoples Redemption Party, had a low social media presence compared to Atiku. Adebayo had 12,500 followers on Twitter, 104 on Facebook, and 2,496 on Instagram. He had a total of 572 followers Sowore had 814,000 on Twitter, 387,364 on Facebook, and 194,000 on Instagram. He had a total of 582,000 followers.
