  • JAMB says it has no say in the admission process of higher institutions.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that no admissions were cancelled or deferred as a result of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

The Registrar/Chief Executive of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede made this statement while declaring open the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions, (NASU), in Abuja on Wednesday.

Oloyede cleared the air on the board’s involvement in the admission process of various institutions across the country. He disclosed that JAMB has no control over the process and charged parents/guardians to reach the institutions their wards are seeking admission into.

The registrar further charged the institutions involved to find a way around the existing academic programmes which were in place before the strike.

Oloyede also noted that about three sessions are currently run by various higher institutions and should be concluded within the time-frame allocated.
