Personal trainer

In an interview with Women’s Health in 2017, Barty shared what her daily workout day looked like. She did a 45-minute body prep routine every morning that involved either stretching or working out her weaker areas. She and her team did a movement session before training for two hours. After training, they would go to the gym in the afternoons to condition themselves, usually after lunchtime. Then a rehab session was next on the checklist. Their training evasions were random training sessions on the court and in the gym in case they needed to do extra training that particular day.

As for her diet, she has stated that her training diet plan was a bit different than the diet she followed when preparing for a match. Barty’s breakfast would have a coffee, either banana or vegemite on toast with yogurt on normal days. After a workout, she usually drank a piece of fruit followed by a “good lunch” to fuel herself for the rest of the day. Post workout it was just afternoon coffee, a piece of fruit followed by a simple dinner of 4 or 5 vegetables.
