Ashleigh Banfield was born Ashleigh Dennistoun Banfield on December 29, 1967, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, under the birth sign of Capricorn. She is the daughter of Suzanne Elizabeth and John Alexander Banfield.

Banfield studied at Balmorals Hall School, graduating in 1985. In 1988, from Queen’s University in Ontario, he earned his BA in Political Science. He also studied at the British’s Advance University in 1992.

Banfield went on to study French at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, British Columbia.
