The Nigerian Stock exchange (NGX) closed in the red as bears took control of the market and there were buy-interests and sell-offs. This resulted in a 17 basis point decline for the overall market. The All-share Index (ASI), which closed at 43,839.08 points, decreased by 0.17%.

Similar to this, market capitalization decreased by N40.06 billion to close at N23.878 trillion, and year-to-date (YTD) gains were 2.6%. Since the year’s beginning, the stock market has risen by 1,122.64 base points.

At the end of the trading session, fluctuations in MTNN caused the SWOOTs capitalization to close negatively. At the closing of today’s session, INTERBREW was the biggest loser among the 19 losers, followed by NAHCO with 8 gainers.

The NGX Banking, Consumer Goods, and Oil & Gas indices all closed lower on a specific basis, while the NGX Insurance index increased by 0.30%. Three of the five key indices of the Nigerian Exchange ended in red. NGX Industrial stayed the same.
