Following the historic victory for the Nigeria music industry, the two major rival political parties, APC and PDP have come out to congratulate Wizkid and Burna Boy on winning the Grammy award.
It was a historic night for the Nigerian music industry at the 63rd Grammy Awards on Sunday night, as two of its artistes set a new mark. Recall that Burna Boy once lost out to Angelique Kidjo in the last Grammy edition. However, with his keen eyes on the award, he won the Best Global Music Album category with his Twice As Tall album, beating Antibalas (FU Chronicles), Bebel Gilberto (Agora), Anoushka Shankar (Love Letters), and Tinariwen (Amadjar).
However, in following top political actors and celebrities to congratulate the milestone achievement of these duos, the two rival parties tweeted.
“We celebrate Nigeria music and afrobeat stars Damini Ogulu @burnaboy and
Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun @wizkidayo on their #GrammyAwards. The best is yet to come”

Moreso, the PDP on its own part said, although they’ve deleted the tweet,
“@OfficialPDPNig congratulates @Wizkid and @Burnaboy, says their #GRAMMY awards showcase the resilience of the Nigerian spirit. The duo has shown the capacity of the Generation-Next-Nigeria to take our nation to envious heights. Congratulations… More wins!”
Evidently, one can say the Burna Boy win is the greatest achievement he can gift his mother on Mother’s Day.
In a video Burna Boy shared on Twitter, Mrs Ogulu could be seen leading the chants in a room filled with relatives and close associates as they sang and danced to the rhythm of Burna Boy’s ‘Ye’ after he was announced the winner of Best Global Music Album category.
In another video, Ogulu also revealed that Burna Boy’s Grammy win was the best Mother’s Day present she could ever receive and that she was a proud mother.
