Anonymous threatens Elon Musk over his manipulation of Bitcoin's value

The popular International hacking collective, Anonymous has issued a threatening video targeting Elon Musk for his manipulation of Bitcoin’s value with his ‘cavalier’ tweets and says he shows ‘disregard for the average working person;

More so, the video posted on 5 June, has garnered more than a million views in 24 hours. “This is a message from Anonymous, for Elon Musk”, the three minutes 47-second diatribe begins, quickly attacking the billionaire for being “another narcissistic rich dude who is desperate for attention.”

In the video, the group claims that the Tesla CEO wields too much power over the cryptocurrency markets and they are tired of the way he appears to be so cavalier in his attitude towards them.

However, the main thrust of the video rant, beyond a number of defamatory statements I won’t repeat here but which are seemingly drawn from various media reports over the years, warns Musk about his viral Twitter posts concerning Bitcoin.

“It seems that the games you have played with the crypto markets have destroyed lives,” the video states, adding that the tweets show a “clear disregard for the average working person.”

‘Millions of retail investors were really counting on their crypto gains to improve their lives. This is something that you will never understand because you were born into the stolen wealth of a South African apartheid emerald mine and have no clue what struggle is like for most of the working people in the world.

‘Of course, they took the risk upon themselves when they invested, and everyone knows to be prepared for volatility in crypto, but your tweets this week show a clear disregard for the average working person.

‘As hardworking people have their dreams liquidated over your public temper tantrums, you continue to mock them with memes from one of your million-dollar mansions.’

You will recall that on Thursday, Musk issued a cryptic tweet that many in the world of digital assets interpreted as the billionaire’s breakup with Bitcoin. The tweet included the Bitcoin logo and a broken-heart emoji.
