BIOGRAPHY OF ANNE BURRELL
Anne Burrell is an American chef, television personality and teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is best known for hosting the Food Network program ‘Secrets Of a Restaurant Chef’ and co-host of ‘Worst Cooks in America’.
Burrell makes restaurant dishes accessible and reveals concise, easy-to-learn techniques for the home cook in his Secrets of a Restaurant Chef series. On her show Chef Wanted, Anne helps top restaurateurs find candidates with the right experience and creativity to become executive chefs. On America’s Worst Cooks, Burrell joins Tyler Florence to mentor teams of hopeless home cooks from across the country, putting them through a culinary boot camp.
To add to that, the chef has won prizes such as the $75,000 Chopped All-Stars Tournament Fourth Round for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and won the “Food Network Personalities” preliminary round. Additionally, Burrell was nominated for Outstanding Lifestyle/Culinary Host by the Daytime Emmy.

Burrell graduated with a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College in Buffalo New York and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English and Communication in 1991. She later pursued her interest in catering by enrolling at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York where she majored in culinary arts.
After graduating, Chef Burrell spent a year in Italy at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del ’30, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. During her time in Italy, she grew to truly appreciate and understand the philosophy of Italian cuisine and culture, which left a lasting impact on her culinary perspective.

CAREER OF ANNE BURRELL
She worked in different restaurants in Italy until the mid-2000s until her arrival in New York where she was hired as a sous chef at Felidia, working with Lidia Bastianich. In addition, Anne was a chef at the Savoy, where she cooked over a wood fire and created tasty menus inspired by Mediterranean countries. There, Burrell developed his personal culinary style by preparing rustic dishes using pure and simple ingredients with intense flavors.
Anne then took the opportunity to spread her culinary knowledge and passion as a teacher at the Institute of Culinary Education. After three years, she returned to catering where she served as executive chef at Lumi.
As executive chef of the New York hot spot Centro Vinoteca from its opening in July 2007 to September 2008, Anne served her “creative-authentic” Italian menu of small plates, antipasti, pastas and accentuated main courses. by its audacious and pure flavours. .
