Anna Todd is an American author and producer, best known as the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the new adult novel After , published in 2014. She began writing the book in 2013 on self-published and social storytelling platform Wattpad, which launched in 2015 than 40 million users. With the book being read by more than 1.5 billion readers on Wattpad, it caught the attention of the platform itself. The platform reached out to Anna and helped her secure a publishing deal with Gallery Books, a division of Simon & Schusterwho signed them and picked up the book. The book was later published in 30 other languages, and Anna later received a request from Environment Pictures for the film rights. She was hired to produce the film, After , which was released on April 12, 2019 and starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Josephine Langford and Selma Blair.

Following the success of her debut book in 2014, Anna published novels After We Collided in November 2014, After We Fell in December 2014 , Always Happy in February 2015 and Before in December 2015.
