Her full name is Anna Helena Paquin. The daughter of a physical education teacher and an English teacher, she was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada), although very soon, when she was four years old, she moved to New Zealand. She has dual Canadian and New Zealand citizenship, although she prefers the latter.
