Anjelah Johnson is an actress, comedian, and former NFL cheerleader who rose to fame after becoming a cast member on the thirteenth season of an American sketch comedy television series, ‘MADtv.’ The actress has also played several iconic roles in various big screen works such as Our Family Wedding , Enough Talking, and Mother’s Night Out . Anjelah broke into Hollywood in 2006. She debuted her acting career on the television series. Love , Inc. She recently appeared in the comedy film, The Resurrection of Gavin Stone . Furthermore, she has also appeared in various music videos and even released the studio album of hers titledGold Plated Dreams . From his already flourishing career, Johnson has also earned a large amount of net worth.
Early life, biography and education of Anjelah Johnson
Anjelah Johnson was born as Anjelah Nicole Johnson on May 14, 1982 in San Jose, California as one of her parents’ five children. Among her siblings, only two are known by the media as Kennie Johnson and Veronica Johnson.
Anjelah grew up in a joint family and is of Mexican and Native American descent. She has American nationality.
Anjelah Johnson attended a local school in San Jose, California and was a cheerleader since she was 8. While in her senior year of high school, she became interested in acting, basically imitating different accents.
She graduated from De Anza College and became a cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders and cheered during Super Bowl XXXVII as an Oakland Raiders Raiderette.
Anjelah Johnson’s Career
After the Superbowl performance as a cheerleader, Anjelah Johnson moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career in comedy. Later, one of her friends suggested to Anjelah that she join improvement classes to improve her pranking skills.
It didn’t take long for Anjelah to become an internet sensation for her own shows which she uploaded to her YouTube channel. She got her first recognition for her stand-up comedy on YouTube for her portrayal of a Vietnamese nail salon employee in the episode titled ‘Nail Salon’.
In an interview when asked about plans to have children, Anjelah said that they were thinking about children. However, they are enjoying their time with her nieces and nephews, which can of course be seen on Anjelah’s Instagram.
Anjelah and her spouse Manwell lead a euphoric married life and have understood and supported each other and there have not been any sightings or rumors of problems between this couple.
