Anita Pallenberg
Model, actress and fashion designer, she is remembered above all as an inspiration for the Rolling Stones and rockers of the 60s. She shared the screen with Jane Fonda in “Barbarella” and starred with Mitch Jagger in the film “Performance”. The Italian Anita Pallenberg died on June 13, 2017 at the age of 73, without specifying her circumstances.
Born on April 6, 1942 in Rome, Anita Pallenberg was the daughter of an Italian artist and a German secretary. She emigrated to New York at a very young age, where she debuted as an actress in the Living Theater company, from where she went to Andy Warhol ‘s Factory . She became a ‘groupie’ for the Rolling Stones after sneaking into her dressing room after a concert in Munich in 1965. “I had seen the Beatles in Frankfurt and I didn’t like them. They all dressed the same, they were very neat, they weren’t bad boys. But these were different,” she stated.
Much more than ‘girlfriend’, she influenced the songs of rockers, and became part of popular culture for her particular way of dressing. She first had a two-year relationship with one of the two guitarists in the formation, Brian Jones, but then she was a couple with the other, Keith Richards , for 13 years. With the latter she had three children, Marlon, Dandelion Angela and Tara Jo Jo, who died at three months, which triggered a crisis in the couple that ended in separation.
In 1967 she made her film debut as the protagonist of Murder and Homicide , by Volker Schlöndorff , where she played a woman who, during an argument with her lover, ended up shooting him dead. In the psychedelic science fiction film, Barbarella was the antagonist of Jane Fonda, as the Great Tyrant, queen of SoGo, the city of evil, who has captured the mad sage whom the central character is looking for to become her receptionist.
She then starred with Mick Jagger in the British underground film Performance , where she was one of the girlfriends who lived with an eccentric rocker in whose mansion a violent gang member takes refuge. During filming it is rumored that she also had an affair with the Rolling Stones vocalist, so she would have been with three of the six founders of the band.
In recent years, he managed to rehabilitate himself from his heroin addiction. In the 1990s she studied fashion at Central Saint Martins in London. Already entered the new century she learned to draw with watercolors and cultivated her own garden.
