After chemotherapy treatment in Houston, Texas, he and his wife moved to a rented house in Malibu, California to be closer to cancer specialists in the Los Angeles area.
On September 25, 2012, Williams died of bladder cancer at the age of eighty-four at his home in Branson, Missouri. The late singer was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the man-made waterway of his Branson Theatre. A memorial service was held in October 2012.

His mother, Florence Belle Finley Williams, died in 1979 at the age of 86. She was buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park (Hollywood Hills), Los Angeles. Williams had three brothers and one sister, namely Bob, Don, Dick and Louisa Jane Williams.
He and his brothers formed the Williams Brothers quartet in late 1938 and performed on radio in the Midwest, first at the United Nations agency, in the state capital, Iowa, and more. later at WLS in Chicago and WLW in Cincinnati.
Additionally, the four brothers appeared in four musical films, including Janie released in 1944, Kansas City Kitty in 1944, Something in the Wind in 1947, and Ladies’ Man in 1947.
In 1945, the Williams brothers were signed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to appear in Anchors Aweigh and Ziegfeld Follies but, before appearing in front of the cameras, the older brother, Bob, was engaged in military service and, therefore, the the band’s contract was cancelled.
Kay Thompson, a former radio star, was then head of the voice department at MGM and she had a nose for talent. Consequently, she employed the remaining 3 Williams brothers to sing in her giant choir on several MGM movie soundtracks.
When Bob finished his military service, Kay hired the four brothers to sing on the soundtrack, Good News in 1947. At one point, Thompson was tired of working backstage at MGM. As a result, she started her own gig known as Kay Thompson and the Williams Brothers, the latter being her background vocals.
They were created in Las Vegas in 1947 and became an overnight sensation. Within a year they were the highest paid cabaret act in the world, breaking records where they appeared.

Williams was married to his first wife Claudine Longet on December 15, 1961, he had three children, Noelle, Christian and Robert. Nonetheless, their marriage was not a blissful eternity after the union as the duo separated in 1970 and divorced in 1975.
The ex-couple remained friends and Williams supported his ex-wife a year after their divorce when she was charged with the murder of her then-boyfriend, Spider Sabich, who was an alpine ski racer. In her affidavit, Longet claimed the shooting was an accident and she was sent to jail for only a month.
Williams is competing for a public role in future events, escorting her to and from court, testifying to her character at trial, and providing legal aid. Longet claimed the shooting was accidental and was eventually sentenced to thirty days in jail.
From the team’s induction in 1968 until 1987, Andy Williams had joint partial possession of the Phoenix Suns, a National Basketball Association team. On May 3, 1991, Williams married Debbie Meyer, whom he met through a mutual friend.
They established their homes in Branson, Missouri and La Quinta, California, where he was called “Honorary Mayor”. Williams was a noted collector of contemporary art and his homes are featured in the Digest area. Williams’ birthplace in Iowa could be a draw for travelers and is open most of the year.

The late singer established his own theater, Moon River Theater, in Branson on May 1, 1992. He named the theater after the Moon River cover song he released in 1962. The Moon River Theater was the first to be featured in Architectural Digest, and it also won the Missouri State Conservation Award in 1992.
It seats 2,054 with forest green, magenta, gold and blue seating and rugs to match Williams’ Navajo rug collection. The theater is widely known as it was featured in three episodes of the soap opera, As the World Turns. Moreover, we see it in several episodes of The Simpsons.
