Andy Reid led the Eagles to five National Football Conference (NFC) championship games, including four consecutive appearances from 2001 to 2004, and a Super Bowl appearance in 2005. However, Mike Holmgren opted to join the Seattle Seahawks instead, but advised Eagles owner Jeff Lurie to hire Reid.
In 2001, Reid was named executive vice president of football operations for the Eagles, making him the team’s general manager.
