Andrea Morehead is an American journalist, anchor/reporter for Eyewitness News weeknights on channel 13 WTHR at 5pm. and 11 p.m. Prior to joining WTHR, Morehead was a reporter for WOOD-TV.

Additionally, she is also known for her work with cancer research fundraisers, the Susan G. Komen Run for the Cure and the 5K Run/Walk for Sickle Cell Disease. She battled and survived breast cancer. Morehead gives back to the community by serving on the boards of several local organizations.

Andrea began her television career as a production intern at Koppel Communications in Washington DC. While at Koppel, she researched topics and helped producers develop “The Koppel Report” for Capital Cities/ABC.

In 1995, Morehead left Koppel Communications and began working as a Board of Management lawyer for the National Football League in New York. Andrea became a weekday evening newscaster/anchor with WGMC TV in Worchester, Massachusetts between 1992 and 1993.

In 1996, she joined WXIN-TV in Indianapolis where she served as a reporter, assistant producer and editor. After finishing her contract at WXIN-TV, she went to WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she worked as a news anchor.

The presenter broke the news in a video that doctors diagnosed her with stage 1 breast cancer in May 2019. She left the anchor office to undergo radiation therapy. Andrea underwent 20 weeks of chemotherapy after her diagnosis and eventually underwent surgery.

The journalist completed her treatment program and returned to her place in front of the cameras on November 12, after spending several months battling triple-negative breast cancer. After going through dark times that included bone pain and nausea from chemotherapy, Andrea finally sees the light and is grateful to be alive and well.
