Andre Jamal Drummond is an American pro basketball player, who currently plays for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. The Detroit Pistons chose him as the ninth overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

Early Life
Andre Drummond was born in Mount Vernon, New York, in 1993 to Jamaican parents. He moved to Middletown, Connecticut, with his mother and sister when he was 7 years old. He went to Woodrow Wilson Middle School and then started high school at Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford.
In his freshman year, he did really well, averaging 12.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 blocks per game. He got even better in his sophomore year, with averages of 20.2 points, 16.6 rebounds, 7.2 blocks, and 4.5 steals per game at Capital Prep.
After spending two years at Capital Prep, he transferred to St. Thomas More in Oakdale because of a foot injury. At St. Thomas More, he became one of the best high school basketball centers and led the team to the national prep championship in 2011.
He was ranked as the top player in the class of 2011 by ESPN and NBADraft.net. He also got high rankings from Rivals.com and Scout.com.
In 2010, Drummond was part of the United States team that won the gold medal at the FIBA Under-17 World Championship, beating Poland 111-80 in the final.

Drummond joined the Detroit Pistons in 2012 as their 9th pick. In his first year, he scored 7.9 points, grabbed 7.6 rebounds, stole the ball 1.0 times, and blocked 1.6 shots per game. He made it to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 2013 and came fourth in the Rookie of the Year vote.
In 2014, he had a career-high of 20 rebounds and 20 points in a game. He also set records in the NBA Rising Stars Challenge. The next year, he had 22 points and 25 rebounds in a game, and he scored 32 points in another.
