education and career
Ana Flores attended a private Catholic school, Carrolton School of the Sacred Heart, in the borough of Miami, Florida. She completed her graduation from the University of Miami.
She has a BA in Political Science and Arts in Latin American Studies. She earned a Juris Doctorate in 1997 from the University of St. Thomas School of Law.
In 1997 Ana Navarro was a special adviser to the Government of Nicaragua. There she was one of the main defenders of the Nicaraguan Adjustment Act and Aid to Central America (NACARA). In 1998, including on Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s transition team, Ana Navarro has served in various Republican administrations.
Later, in 1999 Ana Navarro returned to the private sector. There she represented both private and public clients in matters particularly related to immigration, federal affairs, trade and policies affecting Central America. Ana herself also served as an ambassador for the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.
In 2008, she served John McCain as National Co-Chair of the Hispanic Advisory Council and Jon Huntsman Jr. in 2012. Ana also supported Jeb Bush’s 2016 presidential campaign.
Ana Navarro was hired for ABC News as a political commentator in February 2014. She has contributed to CNN and CNN en Español. When tape of Donald Trump making a demeaning comment towards a woman leaked, she made headlines in October 2016 on CNN when she uttered the word ‘Pu**y’ on air. When told to stop using the word, she replied:
‘Don’t tell me you’re offended when I say ‘Pussy,’ but don’t be offended when Donald Trump says it! I’m not running for president, he is! ‘.
Ana clearly does not support Trump even though she is a Republican. In the same year on November 7th , she revealed that she had voted for Hillary Clinton. Although Ana Navarro is a lifelong Republican, she is anti-Trump.
Personal life
Ana’s was born to Augusto and Amy, her parents. She is the youngest daughter of the family. She has an older sister and two older brothers. In 1980, her family moved to the United States. Ana Navarro currently resides in Miami, Florida.
