Ana Kasparian is a university lecturer, political scholar, writer and lecturer. She is also a producer and currently hosts ‘The Young Turks’ which is an online news program. Previously, she also worked for the show as a stand-in producer and host in 2007. Currently, she has a multi-faceted career and juggles her time between her TV show and as a speaker.

Ana was born on July 7, 1986, in Northridge, California, which makes her American nationality. However, she originally belongs to Armenian descent as her parents left Armenia and belong to Armenian nationality. While Ana grew up in Los Angeles, she spoke Armenian as her first language. She also pursued ballet professionally from the age of 3 to 19. Kasparian went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from California State University with a major in journalism. Later, she also completed her master’s degree in political science.

Kasparian entered the media after graduating when she started working as a CBS radio assistant. She quit her job soon after finding mainstream media was not for her. When she got the chance to work for the show ‘The Young Turks’, she was professionally satisfied and continued for a long time. When she found an unscripted, less robotic platform, Ana began to appreciate the work she was doing.

She is also an academician, she currently teaches at the University of California at Northridge teaching journalism. Ana has a different way of teaching her students as she says she chooses to talk with the students rather than talking to them. Kasparian is also an atheist and defends progressive values.

Talking about her personal life, Ana married her basketball player, model and actor husband Christian Lopez. They got engaged in October 2015 and were due to wed in September. However, they couldn’t wait that long and eloped to finally get married days after their engagement in a secret wedding ceremony while on a business trip.

After which, they finally had an official wedding on the originally planned date in September. Ana’s co-host of the show, ‘ The Young Turks ‘ officiated their wedding . They don’t have any children yet.
