It is not known when she began her career as an activist or how she thought of going there. But she worked as a political activist and participated in several sit-ins and protests from 1980 to 1990. They were mainly aimed at changing US foreign policy mainly towards South Africa and Central America.

In 1986, she was arrested along with activist Abbie Hoffman and 13 others for protesting at the University of Massachusetts Amherst to recruit the CIA there. Since she leads a low-key life, there is not much information about her current activities.
