American Restoration is the reality series that airs on the History Channel. In addition to that, the show also called ‘Kings of Restoration’ outside the United States and Canada and produced by ‘Leftfield Pictures’. Since 2010, the reality show has aired its first six seasons and seventh after two years apart. It initially focused on Rick’s Las Vegas-recorded restoration business of repairing vintage items and transforming them.
Additionally, the owner, Rick Dale started the show after appearing on the popular Rick Harrison show with ‘Pawn Stars’. He was featured on the show with his trusted team and family members taking on big projects and giving them a new makeover. However, the show’s content changed for its seventh season and replaced with five more different ventures. American Restoration started with the idea through show owner Rick Dale. He had already become famous by appearing in another show “Pawn Stars”. In the show, he would help a consultant restore vintage items. This is how the show was created and began to focus on the day-to-day business of his company, Rick Restoration. He participated with his brother Ron Dale, Knowboy, his wife Kelly Dale, his son Tyler Dale, Brettly Otterman, among others.
The show that featured Rick’s restoration from season 1-6 is a store located in Las Vegas and has worked in restoration for over 30 years. His team has worked on restoring vintage items they received from their customers like vending machines, motorcycles and gas pumps, etc. The seasons had also included another segment called Rick’s restaurant-related tips.
Additionally, on the show, Rick also purchased items and had them restored by himself. Additionally, he and his team have limited themselves to work that they can easily restore, due to certain considerations such as their financial restrictions. The show focused not only on their teamwork but also the difficulties they sometimes faced while working as a team; primarily affected between Dale and his brother Ron.
After finishing the sixth season, it came as a shock when the channel decided to fire Rick with his team. Additionally, History Channel also decided to present the show in a different format. Later, the seventh season premiered on January 1, 2016, with episodes of “American Restoration” featuring five different companies. These were the projects led by Bodie Stroud, Dale Walksler, Andy Bowman Jr., Steve Hale and Bob Halliday, restoration workshops across the country.

Speaking of American Restoration’s restaurateurs from season 1-6, the same cast was featured along with celebrity guests. They are:
- Rick Dale: the principal owner of the salon, metal artist, specialist in antique restoration and owner of the company “Rick’s Restoration”.
- Kelly Dale: Rick’s wife, who also manages the secondary activities of the shop, such as managing budgets, customer relations and many others who have to take care of business.
- Tyler Dale: Rick’s son who has worked with his father since he was two years old. The show sometimes shows the father-son duo’s rocky relationship as communicating and poking fun at their son’s styles.
- Brettly Otterman: He’s Rick’s stepson who provides part of his comedic schedule in a hectic workplace. He also impressed his father-in-law with his unique talent as an auctioneer and a good picker.
- Ron Dale: He is Rick’s younger brother who mainly works as a picker and helps his brother manage the employees.
- Knowboy: His real name is Kevin Lowery, an employee who does metal polishing and woodworking in the shop.
- Ted Hague: This is the employee who is an expert in hand painting and has work experience for over 25 years. He is also the owner of the Las Vegas-based signage and design company “Letter Perfect Incorporated”.
The American restoration also includes other employees like dismantling projects reassembly Kyle Astorga, Chris who can handle everything in the shop, and Niko, along with other members. Season 7 includes episodes from five different outlets from across the country.

Rick Dale actively did his business before it was revealed to be a reality show for the History Channel network. The main performer of the show was able to earn a good income from his business as well as from the show.
