She was born on January 29, 1991 in Laguna Hills, California, United States. Snyder was born as the second child to an athlete father who played baseball for the Los Angeles Dodgers and his mother, Tina Bottenfield Snyder. She has five siblings: Ashley, JC, Taylor, Aubrey and Autumn.

From an early age, she was interested in horse riding, inspired by her mother. Moreover, she participated in various sports like pole bending, barrel racing, etc. Later, his family moved to Utah after his father retired. There she completed her high school education at Spanish Fork High School. Then she joined Utah State University and earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education in 2015. From college, she also earned her master’s degree in school counseling in 2018.

AMBERLEY SNYDER: PROFESSIONAL AND PERSONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

As stated earlier, she developed an interest in horse racing from an early age and competed in several related sports. At the age of seven, she competed in her first rodeo barrel race. Then she took the pole bending lap in 2009 at the national high school finals. She won the National Little Britches Rodeo Association World All-Around Cowgirl Championship. From 2009 to 2010, she served as president of the Utah State Future Farmers of America.

Accident & Recovery:

In 2010, she suffered a car accident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. That year, she was driving from Utah to the National Western Stock in Denver. But due to a stomach ache, she did not fasten her seatbelt after stopping at a gas station in Rawlings. Then she bent down to look at a map within 10 miles of the station. Her truck drifted into the other lane and slid off the road, rolling seven times, throwing her off the truck and hitting a fence post. This crushed her t-12 vertebra which rendered her paralyzed from around the waist of her body.

However, she continued to run with the help of physical therapy and a seat belt in her saddle after a year and a half later. In 2014, she won the third position in the intermountain Pro Rodeo Association Barrel Racing Average. Snyder also won “Horse of the Year” from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association of the Rocky Mountain region. And she finished in ninth position in the Rockies region.

Currently, she is a popular motivational speaker and has inspired many who have lost their lives to disability. She also wrote an illustrated children’s book “Walk Ride Rodeo; in 2017. The book described his journey to overcome his problem. Additionally, Netflix approached her to make a movie based on her real-life story in 2018. In the movie, Spencer Locke stunt doubles for her and her sister Autumn performed the stunts before the accident.
