In 2002, Amber began dating her boyfriend “Scott Peterson”. She was already the mother of a child and worked as a masseuse. Also, Frey started an affair with Peterson but she was unaware that he was already married to Laci Peterson.
On Christmas Eve 2002, Scott touched his wife Laci, who was also eight and a half months pregnant. Later, he told Amber that his wife of hers died and this was the first vacation without her.
Additionally, Peterson told police that he was out fishing that day when his wife went missing. But the police were suspicious of his behavior. However, they did nothing without witnesses or evidence.
On the other hand, Amber also saw the change in Scott’s behavior. She knew something was wrong. Later, Frey called the police after 6 days. The author also told them that she had a romantic relationship with Scott for a couple of months.
Also, the police later began working with Amber to collect evidence. According to a source, she recorded more than 29 hours of her phone calls with Peterson for police review.
Scott was sentenced to death by lethal injection in 2004. Additionally, he is currently being held at San Quentin State Prison on death row.
