Amanda Gorman is an American poet and activist best known for her best-selling poetry books ‘ The One For Whom Food Is Not Enough,’ ‘ The Hill We Climb: Poems, ‘ and ‘ Change Sings: A Children’s Anthem.’ She sang her poem ‘ The Hill We Climbed ‘ at the inauguration of President Joe Biden.

Amanda Sarah Chase Gorman was one of a set of twins born in Los Angeles, California in 1998 to be a high school teacher Joan Wicks and her absentee partner. She is around 22-23 years old at the time of writing this article.
At a young age, Amanda was diagnosed with a form of auditory processing disorder and a speech disorder. Despite this, she was an avid reader and writer. On January 20, 2021, Gorman read his poem ‘ The Hill We Climb ‘ during Joe Biden ‘s inauguration ceremony for the White House, becoming the youngest poet in history to read at a presidential inauguration ceremony. Consequently, her next two books of poems ‘ The Hill We Climb ‘ and ‘ Change Sings ‘ landed at the top of Amazon’s best-seller list.
