1. She began her musical journey in 2006 under the stage name Allie Hughes. Initially she focused on indie rock, indie pop and jazz.
2. In 2007 she released her first music album, Waiting for the Prize . It was released in a CD format and distributed locally.
3. She was eliminated from the Canadian reality show, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? already after 2 weeks.
4. In July 2013, Allie relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a full-time songwriting career.
5. Her single Fang The song was praised by Katy Perry on Twitter, calling it “spring jam”.
6. She contributed heavily to Troye Sivan’s album Blue Neighborhood . She co-wrote 7 singles from the album and supported Sivan during the North American leg of their 2016 music tour.
7. In 2013 she was awarded the Canadian Film Center Slaight Music Residency Showcase for her work as an indie artist.
8. She has revealed in her interviews that X in her stage name is taken from the unknown variable in algebra.
