Alison Lohmann
Alison Lohman began her stage career when she was still a child. So she, despite her youth, she has spent a lifetime dedicated to acting.
Alison was born on September 18, 1979 in Palm Springs, California. When she was 9 years old, she played little Gretl from “The Sound of Music” in the theater. Her career on the stage had only just begun and when she turned 17 she had accumulated twelve works. Her theatrical work earned her various awards and recognitions. Given her ability, New York University offered her a place to study dramatic art, but she Alison preferred to move to Hollywood to try her hand at film. She debuted in 1998 with a very supporting role in the monster-infused sci-fi film Kraa the Sea Monster . The next jobs of hers were in small roles in movies like Level 13 . The first role of hers with a minimum of her presence was in Planet Patrol(1999), another science fiction tape where he was one of the members of a galactic patrol. This role in this choral title gave way to her first absolute leading role in the television drama Shared Secret (2000), where she was a young woman with bulimia problems.
In its beginnings, Alison alternated film and television. On the small screen, she starred in the mystery-drama series Pasadena (2001), where she was a member of a wealthy family that hid numerous secrets. The series was not successful, so she continued her work in the cinema. For her next project, she was lucky enough to work alongside Michelle Pfeiffer , Robin Wright Penn and Renée Zellweger . She was her in The Flower of Evil (2002), a drama where she played the daughter of the evil Michelle Pfeiffer. When she enters prison, Alison’s character begins to wander from one foster home to another, and along the way she meets the women played by Renée and Robin. One year later Ridley Scotthe called her in to play the daughter of the con man played by Nicolas Cage in The Impostors . She was her lucky year, as she was also requested by Tim Burton to play the youthful version of Jessica Lange in the very personal Big Fish .
Alison radically changed register to play K’Harma Leeds in Delirious (2006). This film is a sharp critique of the world of fame and the paparazzi. In fact, K’Harma is a fashionable pop star that photographers all over the world sigh for. This more independent and minority type of cinema gave way to titles designed for a wide audience. This is the case of Flicka (2006) about the relationship of a crazy teenager with a wild horse. And that of Beowulf (2007) by Robert Zemeckis , where she played Ursula, the king’s mistress. Now she has just released the drama Things We Lost in the Fire (2007), starring Halle Berry andBenicio del Toro . Alison has a supporting role as Benicio’s partner in the therapy sessions his characters attend to end their addictions.
For her more immediate projects, Alison has returned to her science fiction beginnings with the futuristic Game , a film she has just shot. She is currently shooting Drag Me to Hell , a secret Sam Raimi horror project . The actress has replaced Ellen Page , who was initially going to be the lead.
