Alison Maria Krauss, American bluegrass country singer and musician, is a member of Alison Krauss and Union Station (AKUS. She joined the music industry at a young age and won local competitions at age ten. She first recorded at the 14. He signed with Rounder Records in 1985 and released his first solo album in 1987.

Two Highways Too Late to Cry , Krauss’s debut album, appeared in 1987 to largely positive reviews. The album was recorded with Krauss’s back-up band Union Station, which included guitarist Jeff White, banjoist Alison Brown, and bassist Viktor Krauss; the following year, the group won the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass America’s National Band Championship contest.

In 1989, Krauss and Union Station released Two Highways , which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Recording . Although the album did not win the award, his next album, 1990’s I’ve Got That Old Feeling, did.

The success of I’ve Got That Old Feeling was unprecedented for bluegrass acts in the ’80s and set the stage for Krauss’ breakthrough in the ’90s. By then, the Union Station lineup had more or less settled down.

A year later, Krauss & Union Station teamed up with the likes of John Hartford, Ralph Stanley and others for the multi-million selling soundtrack O Brother, Where Are You? ? A North American tour showcasing some of the album’s star musicians followed in the summer of 2002, allowing Krauss and his band to soar.

New favorite appeared in November and went gold in four months. A live album followed soon after, and in 2004 Krauss released Lonely Runs Both Ways . One Hundred Miles or More , a collection is drawn from Krauss’s Rounder albums, along with recorded sides for various soundtrack projects and five previously unreleased tracks, released in 2007.

He also appeared in 2007’s Raising Sand, an acclaimed, multi-platinum collaboration with Robert Plant. He returned with Union Station for 2011’s Paper Airplane, which was self-produced by the band and designed by Mike Shipley.

In February 2012, Alison won her 27th ^Grammy Award. She has the most Grammy Awards of any solo female artist in any music genre. She is now tied for second with Quincy Jones for most Grammy Awards won.
