Early age and education
Alicia Machado was born on December 6, 1976 , in Maracay, Venezuela to immigrant parents. Her father was from Spain and her mother’s family was from Cuba.

Alicia Machado had to pay the price for winning the Miss Universe title. On the verge of losing weight in terms of reigning the crown until the end of her tenure, she developed anorexia and bulimia. She even confessed that she has been going to psychologists for 20 years to combat the disorder that is causing her mental stress and depression.
She was charged with threatening to kill the Venezuelan judge while presiding over a case against the attempted murder of her then-boyfriend and also for driving her boyfriends’ getaway car. Both indictments were later dropped for not having much evidence.
Alicia Machado, a beauty queen, has been in a number of illustrious affairs including Jose Manuel Figueroa, Rafael Hernandez Linares, Pablo Montero, Raul de Molina, Bobby Abreu, Jorge Aravena and Arturo Carmona.
She was even engaged to baseball player Bobby Abreu, but they called off their engagement after she was caught on tape having sex with co-star Fernando Acaso in one of the episodes.
