Alexis Maas is the widow of famous television presenter and talk show host Johnny Carson, she was born in 1952, in Pittsburgh, United States of America.

Her husband (Johnny Carson) was best known for his show “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” which aired from 1962 to 1992. Carson had gained much fame and popularity during his long career and received six Emmy Awards .

Carson also received the “Presidential Medal of Freedom” and also received a Kennedy Center Award. Maas was his fourth and last wife, and Carson spent the last years of his life with her.

Alexis Maas was married to Johnny Carson on June 20, 1987. Johnny Carson was born on October 23, 1925 in Corning, Iowa, United States as John William Carson and died on January 23, 2005, was an animator of American television, comedian, writer and producer. Carson is best known as the host of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962–1992).

In 1948 Carson married Jody Wolcott. The marriage was unstable, with infidelities committed by both parties, and ended in divorce in 1963. He married Joanne Copeland the same year, on August 17. After a second extended divorce in 1972, Copeland received a settlement of $6,000 a month in child support until Copeland remarried or until Carson’s death (she received it until her death in 2005).

Copeland also received “a nice little collection of art.” She later had a second marriage which also ended in divorce and died in California, aged 83, in 2015. She had no children. Read also about Jon Heder

At the Carson Tonight Show’s 10th anniversary party on September 30, 1972, Carson announced that previous model Joanna Holland and Carson had secretly married that afternoon, shocking her friends and associates. On March 8, 1983, Holland filed for separation. The divorce case finally ended in 1985 with an 80-page settlement, with Holland receiving $20 million in cash and property.

On June 20, 1987, Johnny Carson married Alexis Maas. The marriage lasted until his death in 2005. Johnny Carson reportedly joked, “I give marriage advice, it’s like the captain of the Titanic giving sailing lessons.”

Children

Johnny Carson had three sons with his first wife: Christopher, Cory and Richard. Her second son, Richard, died on June 21, 1991, when the Carson car plunged down a steep embankment along an asphalt service road off Highway 1 near Cayucos, California. Apparently Richard had taken pictures when the accident happened. Read also about Jon Heder

On the first Tonight Show after the death of Carson’s son, Carson paid tribute to Richard’s photographic work by showing off his nature slides, while Stevie Ray Vaughan’s 1989 song ‘Riviera Paradise’ played in the background. Additionally, the final show image, along with some “More to Come” bumpers, from Carson’s last show on May 22, 1992, featured a photo that Richard had taken.
