Sister of the also actors Patricia, Rosanna, David and Richmond, the transsexual Alexis Arquette never achieved the same recognition, especially from the first.

But he had interventions in films as significant as  Pulp Fiction . The interpreter –seen on screen as a man, woman and trans– and drag queen died on September 11, 2016 in Beverly Hills, at the age of 47, as a result of an undisclosed illness. “Our brother Robert, who became our sister Alexis, died in the early morning of September 11 at 12:32 am,”  Richmond Arquette wrote  on Facebook. A few months ago, her brother David stated that Alexis no longer identified as transgender.

Born on July 28, 1969 in Los Angeles (California), Robert Arquette belonged to a showbiz family, as his father was the screenwriter and television producer Lewis Arquette, while his mother, Brenda Denault, dedicated herself to acting. . Several of his siblings followed her path, first Rosanna, then Patricia David and Richmond. The clan resided in a Virginia hippie commune.

In 1989, Alexis also made her film debut, with a supporting role, the transsexual in  Last Exit, Brooklyn . In  Of Mice and Men , he was Whitt, a lover of solitude who belonged to the community of workers on the ranch where the action takes place. 

Movie buffs will especially remember  Pulp Fiction , where he was the guy who comes out of the bathroom when mob killers Vincent and Jules (Travolta and Jackson) think they’ve finished off all their rivals. Although he empties the entire magazine on them, he does not even touch them. In the Tarantinian tape his sister Rosanna was also present.

With Patricia, he appeared in  Bride of Chucky , and also had roles in  The Ideal Boy ,  The Lords of Dogtown  and even played Emperor Caligula, in the series  Xena, Warrior Princess . He worked with the Spanish filmmaker  Isabel Coixet , in  Things I Never Said to You , where she gave life to Paul, a neighbor secretly in love with the protagonist, Lily Taylor. He leaves one last job,  Citizens , still in post-production at the time of his death. The documentary  Alexis Arquette: She She She’s My Brother  showed the transformation of her into a woman.
