1. Kolarov started an agricultural company in his native Serbia, which is run by his brother.
2. In January 2004 he left Red Star Belgrade without having made a senior national team appearance in his 5 years with the club. He joined Čukarički and signed a 3-year contract with the new club.
3. In February 2006 he moved to OFK Beograd in a controversial contract. He had one year left on his contract with Čukarički, but Beograd signed him as a free agent. The club appealed to the Football Union of Serbia (FSS), but the formal complaint was rejected.
4. SS Lazio bought Kolarov from OFK Beograd in the summer of 2007 for a transfer worth €925,000 as a transfer fee.
5. He scored his first goal for Lazio in September 2007 with a long-range missile from 38 meters away against Reggina.
6. In March 2009 he cemented his status as a cult hero among Lazio fans when he scored a wonderful solo goal in a match against their hated derby rivals. He received the ball from the goalkeeper and ran the length of the field to score the goal.
7. In the 2009 Coppa Italia final against Sampdoria, he scored a penalty in a shoot-out and helped his side win the coveted trophy. It was his first trophy with the Italian capital club.
8. In July 2010, Lazio agreed to sell Kolarov to Manchester City for the reported transfer fee of £16m.
9. In June 2014 he signed a contract extension with the English club to extend his stay at the club until 2018. It was also revealed that he had changed his jersey number from 13 to 11.
10. Having left the first team, he agreed to join AS Roma in July 2017 after the Italian club paid Manchester City €5m for his services.
11. He was named captain of the Serbia national team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign. He was their captain for all three group stage games.
