Alejandro Sanz is a Spanish musician, singer and composer, best known as the winner of numerous awards such as the Latin Grammy Awards, Grammy Awards and the Latin Grammy for Album of the Year. At the age of 19 he released his first studio album Los Chulos Son Pa’ Cuidarlos (1989) which went relatively unnoticed. His next 4 albums – Viviendo Deprisa (1991), Básico (1993), Si Tú Me Miras (1993) and 3 (1995) did well commercially, but his fifth studio album entitled Mehr (1997) brought Alejandro greater international success . His 6th studio album, El Alma al Aire(2000) sold more than a million copies in its first week and in 2002 he recorded and released his second live album. MTV staked out, making Alejandro the first Spanish artist to accomplish this feat.
In 2005, Alejandro rose to global fame for his collaboration with singer Shakira on her single La Tortura , which reached number 1 on several worldwide charts that year. He also recorded and released studio albums No Es lo Mismo (2003), El Tren de los Momentos (2006) and Paraíso Express (2009) before being signed by Universal Music Group (UMG) and releasing his 10th studio album – La Música No Se Toca (2012), followed by Sirope (2015). On April 5, 2019 he released his 12th studio album titled #ElDisco which featured a track Mi Persona Favoritain collaboration with Camila Cabello. Alejandro Sanz has a huge global fan base with more than 20 million followers on Twitter, more than 7 million followers on Facebook, more than 5 million followers on Instagram and more than 2 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

- Jaydy Michel (1997-2005) – He started dating Mexican fashion Model Jaydy Michel married in 1997 and after 2 years together on December 30, 1999 on a beach in Bali, Indonesia. However, the marriage was not legally binding or recognized by the state in either Mexico, Indonesia or Bali. Alejandro later explained that an official marriage certificate was not necessary since Jaydy was his wife and he was her husband and the marriage by heart was enough for both of them. They have one daughter together, Manuela Sánchez Michel (born July 28, 2001). The two went their separate ways in 2005.

- He recalled being more of a “group troubadour” among the kids he grew up with, as he wanted to play guitar and sing from an early age.
- Alejandro’s father was a professional guitarist, which led him to play guitar as well.
- His mother once broke his guitar because he kept her from sleeping because he practiced out loud in the early hours.
- Alejandro wanted to be a professional flamenco performer, but quickly found out that the rules were strict, and instructors would be cruel if you got off the beat. Because of this, he decided to focus on his own music, but with flamenco influences.
- His original stage name was Alejandro Mango, Spanish for “Alexander the Great”, a well-known Macedonian conqueror.

- Alejandro suffered a serious nervous breakdown in spring 2007. On the advice of his doctor, he took a two-month hiatus from performing, touring, and songwriting.
- He said that the reasons for the breakup were a combination of a breakup from his then-girlfriend/wife Jaydy Mitchel, having an affair with another woman, and a son emerging from the affair in 2003. His father also died in 2005, further breaking him down. By the end of therapy, he felt rejuvenated and returned to performing regularly.
- In late 2007, he criticized Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez for not being democratic and tried to help the petition to prevent his re-election, but failed.
