Alain Delon was born on November 8, 1935 in Sceaux, in the Hauts-de-Seine. Coming from a modest background and dissipated student. He worked in his stepfather’s butcher’s shop before joining the Navy at 17 and ending up in Indochina. On his return to Paris, his encounters with, among others, Jean-Claude Brialy then the director Yves Allégret, made him turn to the cinema.

From 1960, with  Plein Soleil  by René Clément, then in 1961 with  Rocco et ses frères  by Luchino Visconti,  the actor began his practice of the profession under the guidance of recognized directors of the seventh art .

Alain Delon rose to the rank of film star in 1960 with Plein soleil, an adaptation of the novel “Monsieur Ripley” by Patricia Highsmith, under the direction of René Clément. He continued the following year with Rocco et ses frères by Luchino Visconti, which won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival.

From 1959 to 1963, he had a highly publicized relationship with Romy Schneider . During these four years, they both embodied glamor and success.

On August 13, 1964, he married Francine Canovas . On September 30, 1964, she gave him a son, Anthony, who was born in Hollywood.
