Akwa Ibom Governor Loses Wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno
The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the passing of Pastor Patience Umo Eno, the wife of the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno. The state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, disclosed the sad news in a statement released early Friday.
According to Ememobong, the First Lady passed away on September 26, 2024, after battling an undisclosed illness. In the statement titled “Unexpected Sunset,” he conveyed the deep sorrow felt by the government and the people of Akwa Ibom State.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital in the presence of her family,” Ememobong stated.
The statement continued: “The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted individuals during this difficult time.”
Further details about the arrangements will be shared by the family in due course, while they kindly request privacy as they mourn their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
Governor Umo Eno expressed his appreciation to all who have supported the first family during this time of grief, assuring the people of Akwa Ibom that despite this profound personal loss, his dedication to the service of the state remains firm and unwavering.
