Akpabio Breaks Silence: Blasts Senator Natasha’s Shocking Assassination Claim as ‘Deadly Lie’

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has firmly denied explosive allegations made by suspended Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, accusing him of plotting her assassination.
The female senator had, during a Sallah visit to her constituency in March 2025, alleged that Akpabio conspired with ex-Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello to eliminate her. She urged Nigerians to hold both men accountable should anything happen to her.
Responding in a statement released Friday by his media aide, Eseme Eyibo, Akpabio labeled the accusation as false, reckless, and malicious. He described it as a dangerous ploy aimed at inciting public unrest and damaging his reputation.

“This claim is not only a lie but a calculated move to stir public outrage and undermine the credibility of my office,” Akpabio said.
He also recalled that the same senator had once accused him of sexual harassment—a claim she later abandoned without explanation. “Having failed with that tactic, she’s now resorting to a more sinister narrative,” he added.
