Ahlam Ali Al Shamsi (in Arabic الشّامسي علي أحلام) is a pop singer from the United Arab Emirates. She was born on February 13, 1968 in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.

The Emirati singer nicknamed “the queen” is now famous throughout the Middle East and more precisely in the Persian Gulf, she has 10 albums to her credit.

Controversial figure par excellence, she is often criticized for her egocentrism, her taste for luxury which is reflected both in her extravagant clothing and in her jewelry sets at exorbitant prices.

Ahlem also officiated as a member of the jury for the television program “The Voice” broadcast on MBC in its version dedicated to the Arab world before being dismissed for political reasons. She was replaced by Nawal Al Kuwaitia.

Little known facts

• In 2018, the singer Ahlam announced on her twitter account that she will file a complaint against the television channel Attessia TV as well as the singer and columnist Chameseddine Bacha and their guest Amira Belhaj following the confession of the latter who claimed to have participated in the show The Voice and to have been dismissed because of her overweight by the singer. Ahlam has denied everything and even claims to have never met Amira Belhaj.
