Abz Love is an English rapper, singer, songwriter, DJ, TV personality and producer, best known as a member of a 5-man band Five , also called 5ive , formed in 1997. They were one of the most successful British bands of the 1990s, under Signed by Simon Cowell, music manager at Sony BMG Records at the time. The band was active between 1997 and 2001 and broke up for the first time after that. Abz was the only band member to get a solo deal with Simon Cowell, which led to the release of his debut solo album Abstract Theoryon 1 September 2003. The album had 3 Top 10 hits in the UK Singles Chart and peaked at number 29 on the UK Albums Chart, but failing to chart higher, Abz was dropped from the label just 3 months later. As an independent artist, he released a lesser-notable EP album entitled Geliebt in August 2011.

Abz decided to return to the media industry on October 18, 2012 when it was announced that he would be taking part in the TV documentary series ITV2 The Great Reunion . It showed his history as a solo artist and as a band member in a time after their fame was waning. Because of its whimsical, interesting character, each episode averaged about 1 million viewers. He then appeared as himself on the reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother 12 in August 2013 because he needed the money as he was living with his aunt at the time. He finished second in the show’s finale on September 13, 2013. Despite the success of The Great Reunion and the promotion it brought, Abz officially announced that he was leavingFive via Twitter and decided to move from the city to a farm to live with his wife. He wrote to BBC2 producers who agreed to send a film crew to make a documentary series about his life in the country. The series premiered in August 2015 under the name Land Dispute: Abz on the Farm and saw moderate success among UK viewers.

Abz Love released his debut studio album titled Abstract Theory on September 1, 2003 under Sony BMG Records . The album consisted of 13 tracks – The Real One , Emotional , Shame , Angels , Lovers’ Rock , Rain , Turn Me Up , 7 Ways , Back to Limbo , What You Got , Stop Sign , Miss Perfect , and Roll With Me. It made it to number 29 in the UK Albums Chart but failed to chart worldwide. This led to Abz being dropped from the label just months later.
