- During his school days, he competed in athletics events. He was quite good at long-distance running, which was certainly instrumental in developing his great stamina.
- In his school days he was also known for his eloquence and intelligence. When he was 12, he was elected one of his school’s city counselors.
- He used his position as a municipal advisor to lobbied local authorities for the construction of suitable football facilities near Vigne Blanche, a notorious underprivileged neighborhood in west Paris.
- He joined his first football club at the age of 11 when he started his journey OFC Les Mureaux . His mother had previously not allowed him to join a club as she didn’t want him to cross the busy roads.
