AARON LEWIS WHAT HURTS THE MOST LYRICS
I can take the rain off the roof of this empty house
I don’t mind
I can take a few tears once in a while and let them out
I’m not afraid to cry once in a while
Even though carrying on with you still bothers me
There are days from time to time, I pretend that I’m fine
But that’s not what attracts me
What hurts the most
Was so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
That’s what I was trying to do
It’s hard to bear the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I do
It’s hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I’m alone
Even harder
Getting up, getting dressed, living with this regret
But I know if I could start over I’d
trade give all the words I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken
What hurts the most
Is so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
That’s what I was trying to do
What hurts the most
Was so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
That’s what I was trying to do
That’s what I was trying to do
