AJ Cook is a Canadian actress who is primarily known for her roles as Jennifer JJ Jareau on the CBS crime drama Criminal Minds.

Early age and education
AJ Cook was born on July 22, 1978 in Ontario. He grew up in Whitby and attended Anderson Collegiate Vocational Institute. He has three siblings named Nathan, Paul, and Angela.
Cook was declared blind in the second degree due to severe astigmatism. she wore thick glasses and contact lenses to correct her vision. At her young age, she underwent surgery in which a lens implant corrected the impairment.
Because Cook loved to dance at the young age of four, he began taking classes in Jazz, Tap, and Ballet. She danced for many years before deciding to try her hand at acting.

Cook was a great dancer, and she told herself that if she didn’t pursue a career in acting, she would surely open a dance studio. Her first job was in a McDonald’s commercial. She graduated with a serial job with a guest role on the television series called Goosebumps.
Cook played a borderline Shelby Merrick role with a girl dealing with abuse and heartbreak at a wild school for struggling kids.
He then appeared in the TV movie called The Spiral Staircase and later played a leading role in movies including Out Cold, Ripper, Im Reed Fish and Final Destination 2.

Personal life
Cook, who is one of the brilliant actresses, is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She married her longtime boyfriend Nathan Anderson in 2001 whom she met at Utah Valley University.
She later moved to Salt Lake City in Utah to be with him. Currently, they reside in Los Angeles, California along with their two children.
Their first son Mekhai was born in the year 2008. Mekhai made a brief appearance in Criminal Minds as Henry LaMontagne. His second child, Phoenix, was born in July 2015 and also appeared in Criminal Minds as his second child.
