AJ Burnett is a well-known meteorologist and weather producer best known for WCVB’s StormTeam 5, an affiliate television station based in Boston Massachusetts, USA. Previously, he worked as a substitute teacher at Beverly Public School.

In the year 1996, AJ Burnett began his career in the field of journalism. First, he worked as a broadcast meteorologist. He worked there until late 1998 and continued his career as a freelance meteorologist at WFXT FOX 25.

Additionally, Burnett served as the weather anchor for about eight years and changed the weather content to a higher resolution. He also worked as a supporter and advocate for the MA/NH Alzheimer’s Association, where he serves on the Board of Directors.

Along with WCBV meteorologists named Mike Wankum and Danielle Vollmar, Burnett went on vacation in 2016. WCVB team members made a special appearance where they discussed climate change.

 

In 2003, due to Tommy John surgery, Burnett was limited to four starts before missing the rest of the season. He also spent the postseason on injured reserve until the Marlins won the 2003 World Series against the Yankees . In 2004, he returned to the game again and made 19 starts for the Marlins going 7-6 with a 3.68 ERA.

In the 2005 season, Carl Pavano , a former teammate wanted to test the market rather than accept whatever new contract the Marlins gave him. The pro player seemed to be throwing his best games of the season close to the trade deadline. Burnett, who has a 2.11 ERA in 18 starts this season and will be pitching in his first All-Star Game. In addition, he lost six straight decisions, including four losses in five starts with an ERA over that span of 5.93 during the Marlin’s unsuccessful wild-card chase to close out the season with a 12-12 record despite a 3.44 ERA.

In December 2010, there was a rumor that Burnett and his wife were divorcing, but he denied the report. He was diagnosed with Gibert’s syndrome, a mild disorder in which the liver doesn’t process well. He is currently involved with Hearst Television and Burnett Media Group.
