Alausa also emphasized the importance of deploying more graduate teachers to underserved rural schools to address educational manpower shortages. He praised NYSC’s digital mobilisation initiatives, which are helping to eliminate certificate fraud, especially among West African foreign-trained graduates.
Additionally, the minister applauded the NYSC’s resolution of the exemption issues that previously affected OND part-time graduates with full-time HND certificates.
He revealed that efforts are underway to digitise the verification process for Nigerian-origin graduates who studied abroad, assuring closer collaboration between the Ministry and NYSC to enhance education in Nigeria.
Brigadier General Nafiu, in response, highlighted the need to create a database for Nigerian youths studying overseas to combat the issue of fake degrees. He assured that NYSC is committed to aligning its reforms with national priorities.
The Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, affirmed the commitment to working closely with NYSC to uplift the educational standard across the country.
